Chris Riehm is a photographer and scientist based in the Atlanta area, working in infrared since 2016. The photographs are made on full-spectrum converted cameras filtered to infrared bands. In infrared, vegetation returns the strongest signal, so the living parts of a landscape ignite, producing an otherworldly look. Different filters and frequencies produce different looks, with shorter wavelength filters producing more colorful images, but permitting less infrared light.
